The PGHM Chamonix has faced major rescue this weekend.

In the night from Saturday to Sunday, a climber has suffered of a pulmonary edema while he was in the Bivouac de la Fourche between France and Italy in the combe Maudite.

It was a caravan on foot of 4 rescuers and a doctor who rescued the climber during the night.

Then around 7am on Sunday morning, the helicopter was able to intervene and evacuate everyone.

town has voted a grant of 10,000 euros to help the victims of Japan.

At Friday night's city council, elected officials have chosen to help Japan, as the city of Fujiyoshida, twin city of Chamonix. This city had helped the Chamonix Valley during the disasters of 1999.
